This is a poster I designed for Central Connecticut State University to persuade people to sign up to volunteer for the Connecticut chapter of the AIGA. (American Institute of Graphic Arts) I designed this to be very approachable and simple, so anyone walking by can quickly be drawn in and informed. I used the AIGA selected color palette in order to keep things consistent with their brand.
In order to break up the visual monotony of the design, I filled the pink squares with various patterns created in Illustrator. These are a subtle touch that keeps things interesting and fun. When convincing people to volunteer, I feel it is important to make it seem more exciting and fun than it would sound on paper. Volunteering for AIGA can provide a lot of strong opportunities, so I wanted to bring in as many people as possible with this design.
The design was also adapted into a web banner format so that designers navigating on the website can get the same information. This was done by making a few simple changes and reorganizing the design. There aren't as many details, as it is meant to be clicked on. This means you don't need the URL listen on the actual banner, as it would be attached to the banner via web link.
This design was created in Adobe Illustrator
I do not claim ownership of the AIGA Connecticut logo
