Done with Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
I was tasked with creating a mock website for a local venue called Trinity on Main in New Britain, CT. This venue puts on shows from all different forms of performing arts, whether it be comedy, music, informative speeches, or dance shows. The venue sticks primarily to more local or lesser known performers, however sometimes it seems to grab the attention of some higher fame as well. I wanted to make sure to keep this sort of underground performance club feel when designing the website, so I designed it to be very dark, with just the important parts coming through. This makes the whole site feel like you're at a show, causing for a very interactive and interesting experience.
While the home page feels very fleshed out and complete, the interior pages needed to match this same style. I chose to use the artists Black Violin as an example for my interior page, designing a page that allows you to read a little about the performers as well as purchase tickets very easily. This is very important when designing a site for a concert venue. While yes, some people will log on to check out who's coming and what types of performances are being put on, others will log on simply to quickly purchase tickets to their favorite show. The site has to be optimized to deliver the best experience to both types of users, and I feel the setup of my pages meets this requirement.
Creating this site taught me to pay attention to the different ways different users will navigate websites based on their needs. You need to be mindful of every possible route through the site and every way it could be seen or used in order to create a truly intuitive and successful site. On top of that, the website should be able to maintain a strong and interesting appearance and design. These two key component paired together are what truly create a successful website on the internet.
I do not claim ownership over any of the images or logos used in this design, I am only responsible to arranging and designing the website.
